What Is It?

The Freedom Wagon is The SLV Freedom Company’s free community transportation program serving any resident of the San Luis Valley. Operating like a traditional city bus, the Freedom Wagon runs a 22‑stop fixed route, completing a full loop every hour, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Our service provides consistent, dependable access to medical care, treatment, employment, groceries, food resources, housing agencies, and essential community services. Every ride is delivered with trauma‑informed, peer‑support values that honor dignity, trust, and compassion.

Program Purpose?

Reliable transportation is a challenge for many people in the San Luis Valley, such as families without vehicles, individuals navigating recovery, seniors, workers, and community members facing difficult circumstances. Missed appointments can lead to setbacks in health, employment, housing, and stability. The Freedom Wagon exists to ensure no one in our community is left behind due to lack of transportation.

Although we currently operate only within Alamosa County, our long‑term vision is to expand the Freedom Wagon across the entire San Luis Valley to connect every town with reliable, accessible public transportation that strengthens community wellbeing.
